I'm back at school and have been busy and my body has been revolting from the new schedule. It's done it before, but it's not adapting well.
The weather here has turned decidedly fall-like, which I approve of whole heartedly. I am a little afraid for winter though...but I'll try to push the memory of last year's snow and slick streets to the back of my mind.
For now, since I haven't had any time to write...at all....ever...in the last three weeks, I'm dragging a poem out of the archives for folks to partake in.
dusk
at the beginning of summer
it had been bright out,
but now
the light casts summer shadows
of warmth—
brings a new flush
to the landscape—
life to the dying
scraggly grass
verdant green,
tips of soybeans
turning yellow
these evenings
devour
the crispness
in the air
with a hunger
unsatisfied
